Almodóvar del Campo, is located south of the province of Ciudad Real Spain, bordering the province of Córdoba. The municipality of Almodóvar is extensive and varied surface topography.

Sierra Madrona south is where are the highest peaks of Sierra Morena, in the center of Alcudia Valley between the Sierras of Umbria and Solana of Alcudia, north Campo de Calatrava land of ancient volcanoes.

In Almodóvar del Campo there are archaeological remains dating back to the Paleolithic, are also noteworthy remains of Roman times. The stable population settlement now known as Almodóvar del Campo is of Arab origin and its name them: ‘Al-mod-var’ comes from ‘Almo-duevar’ and ‘Alridóvar’ meaning ‘water-Round’ or ‘Site-Redondo’ undisputed reference to the Laguna de Almodóvar del Campo, which is an ancient volcano crater.

La Virgen del Carmen (Covicar) Cooperative was founded in 1961 as oil mill until then growers sold their olives and did not produce olive oil.

The cooperative was founded by 51 members who believed in the project to start producing olive oil.

The cooperative now includes members with from extensive olive groves partners with small groves inherited and that keep family tradition.

Olive oil flows through our veins. The olive and olive oil is a family tradition passed from father to son ever since. Already in Roman times there were olive and olive oil production in the area.
